Brains are Best

What do you think gets better with age?

My brain is bursting at age sixty-four

Although I’m unable to rise from the floor

Cheese and wine age well I hear

But not my ankles, knees, or rear

Smarts I gained over the years

Yet sound is fleeting from my ears

Practiced skills gain traction too

But I can’t dance the bugaloo

Of all my parts, the brain is best

It don’t need ice, elevation, or rest

Like this ankle I sprained

And swollen fingers I gained

I should carry a cane for next I fall

No games I go play today

Twisted ankles are painful you see

Yet a headache is the worst my brain can say
