Correcting Mistakes

Or at Least, Attempting To

Recently I found out that one can correct an acrylic painting once it’s dried, a fact I didn’t know! I was so excited! So yesterday, I attempted to correct three paintings I had messed up. You might remember a couple of them.

This is the most recent disaster.

I grouped all three but one isn’t corrected yet. I did ‘erase’ my mistake, but I can’t find the picture I used for inspo anywhere on Pinterest.

These are what I worked on yesterday.

I spent hours on the top photo of the three, and was so frustrated with the results, I still forgot the palm trees!

The small picture looks a little better and of course my porch is missing the other handrail, but I can’t fix that one until I find the picture I used as inspiration.

The hardest thing about correcting is color matching. So, I’m only proud of the last picture and how I got the handrail out and matched the color of the water.

The other two still need work, but my husband said he doesn’t understand why I want to correct paintings instead of painting new ones. I told him that is how you learn!

I just realized I forgot to take the masking tape off that last picture. 🤣

  1. Trying to match paint to a previously painted artwork is really difficult. Congratulations on a job well done.
