Getting it Done!

We have been pretty busy the last few days. Monday, we emptied the rest of the trailer and put it all on the bus. Dave picked a few items we didn’t need to worry about right now and obtained a tiny storage cube. We went and put that in. Afterwards, we went to the PO so we could get mail here at the RV Park.

I’m sure there was a store run, and we got our first look at a few houses we’d found online. I believe we went to lunch at Whataburger in Vidor and also thinned some clothes to take for donation.

Yesterday, we went and set up a bank account separate from the ones we have at home, so Dave can direct deposit his checks every week. Today we went back and added myself to the account because I forgot my ID yesterday. 😆

We went house hunting again and I went home in a very negative mood, which I apologized for this morning. Let’s just say the nice houses are far and few between in our price range. I gave myself a talking to this morning during my Bible hour and reminded myself that God is in control, not me.

Regardless, Dave took me to the Bayou Cafe for a Boudin ball and a cup of delicious gumbo. OMG, it was sooooo good. But then it hit my stomach and didn’t want to be there! I don’t know if it was too rich or if a spice didn’t agree, but I won’t let it ruin the place for me. Could have been a one-time thing.

Today it was back to the bank to add myself, another house we added to the list, Walmart, and that’s it but the day is young!

The RV park is unremarkable except for the fact that all he spaces are covered, which is awesome. It’s just a place to park and live until we find a house. No activities go on or anything that I know of. No laundry, or dog park either. It’s clear that the job of finding a park should be my responsibility. 🤣😆😂

Oh well, we are doing fine and I am looking forward to Saturday when Richard comes and shows us the insides of all the houses on our list. I think we found five to look at.

I want to apologize for not writing as much. Afternoons I am pretty relaxed due to my “medicine” and I’m on a schedule with my stretching and exercise routine. I have to stay warm and relaxed to be as pain-free as possible. I try to answer all responses, though, and I appreciate when you provide De feedback. I’ve been too lax on that too, but I’ve had a lot on my mind also.

Every morning I pray for my family as well as those on my personal prayer list. It really helps ground and calm me when life starts feeling chaotic and overwhelming. I try to give myself a break and admit that what we are going through is a lot and sometimes we don’t sit still with it long enough to feel what we should. Our culture is go, go, go. So I’m trying to be more present as well.

Blessings everyone, thank you for being here. ☺️

I’m also doing a small photo dump of some things we did with friends before we left and some we’ve done here since Sunday.

Looks like you had lots of fun – may it continue throughout 2026!

    1. Ahh. Now I know why you haven’t heard about Whataburger, lol. Guess they don’t have those in Australia. I’d sure like to visit there or Tasmania anyway!
I don’t have migraine, but I do suffer from chronic pain, so I get having to make a sort of peace with it. Especially when it seems like no one cares because you can’t get it taken care of. I have been manag8ng my own for a couple of years now.
I’m learning Tai Chi slowly, but I prefer walking indoor workouts. I do them to THE fabulous 50’s videos on YouTube.

      1. I do love my tai chi, but I also walk the dogs, and when I can’t because of the pain I do laps around my bedroom – is it Shelley you watch on YouTube (I love her) – I also like senior shape fitness with Lauren (I’m only 55 but I often feel 100!) hope you make it down under one day! Sending love and light your way 🌟💜

      2. Yes ma’am, I love Shelley too!
I do her workouts most days and slip in a Tai chi video a couple of days a week.
I need a live teacher, lol-i can’t seem to get the movements down right.
I’m 64, 65 in March and I feel 100 lots of days, lol but I’m still 21 in my mind!

      3. Oh wow – I’ll think of you when I do the workouts with Shelley – I try for 15 minutes every day (tai chi or the at-home-walking) – I’m nearly 55 and too shy to go to a real class, so I’m content for ‘fluffing’ it and just doing the best I can – so far I haven’t hurt myself, so I’ll keep muddling along at home! Yay us!
