SoCS & JustJoJan

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 17th and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “favorite saying.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

Thanks Linda

Before I get to the business of the post, let me just say we went to look at 5 houses today but we’re denied seeing two, one was pending sale and was awful anyway, one was just right to me but the children are fighting each other over selling it.

Which brings me to a good if not favorite saying:

”You can’t take it with ya!

I was disappointed because if we could have found the house today, then that would have started the buying process, but looks like Dave is going to start work next week from right here at the bus.

We came home and tried to make a list of some more houses to go eyeball later, but we can’t agree on what’s more important. It’s no biggie, we will work it out, we always do, I just wanted Dave to have one less thing to worry about starting his job.

When it comes to qualifications for the right house, I ascribe to the old adage- I want a “bigger bang for my buck” philosophy. Dave has a different outlook. He wants room and space to park the bus and car. He love move-in ready, but isn’t afraid of a little work.

I want my neighborhood to be nice and clean, or be out on our own acreage somewhere. I don’t want to live next to a house that looks like trash/druggies live there. I want personality and good bones to work with. Lots of room, and a guest room for visitors. Preferably an outside entertainment area-patio, pool whatever. I don’t want us to have to replace the flooring or paint if possible.

Many houses here only have one bathroom (not having two isn’t a deal killer for me but Dave says no) and no garage. In Texas, a garage is a must! With our wild weather, we need shelter. So no matter how wonderful the house looks inside and out, we can’t consider it with no garage. Dave would also like a shop or shed on the property.

He won’t let me say, “whatever you think is best, dear.” We both must agree or we will not buy a house. I have to think there is something better out there and God will reveal it in His time, not ours.

So, we press on. 😊

More to come!
