Finding My Rhythm

Dave started his job yesterday so I’m back to establishing some kind of routine. It was rainy off and on today but between walks to the trash and mailbox plus my indoor walks and such, I’m up over 5,000 steps so far today. I had been trying to average 7,000 when we were at Kevin’s.

Besides stressing about my exercise and diet, I’m also balancing reading time with cleaning and organization just to do anything but sit. I left most of my crafting things at Kevin’s, but I have map colors and an adult coloring book plus my tool bag which holds things I could make jewelry or macrame things with. Finally, I did bring my yarn bag, so if I were inspired, I could whip out a scarf in a jiffy.

There are no activities here, it’s just a place for the guys that work in the refineries to park their homes and sleep a few hours between shifts. I have no car since Dave has it at work, but that will change when he finds a truck. First, we have to get this house deal done 🙏 I know, this is the second mention of a possible house but I refuse to say anything or show pics until I’m positive we are going to get it.

I’m pretty good at entertaining myself luckily, and I’ve been trying to finish The Chosen Season 5. This series has been so good, I won’t do anything else while watching it. Today’s episode was a real tearjerker because it was about Jesus trying to make the Apostles understand he’s about to die. Then, he held a separate “last supper” with the women followers (not sure if this was historically accurate) that had me vaclempt.

Today I organized the overhead cabinets and the pantry. I’m tired of not knowing what canned goods we have, so I moved them down to the slide-out drawers. It really holds a lot more food than you’d think! We have enough storage for everything we need and that’s a blessing. I don’t know how people in smaller RVs do it, but everyone finds their own tips and tricks I’m sure.

These are the three we use the most of the 6 we have in the living room.
I can dream its warm with our own palm tree.

We -like most of the nation- are looking at the threat of severe cold weather and possible ice this weekend! Not happy about that! For those 3-4 days, I’ll be indoor walking for sure! I’m so happy that Kevin gave me one of his old electric (wool) blankets. Whether it’s plugged in or not, I’m sitting inside of it most of the time. 🤣

Stay warm and cozy my friends. ☺️

One more thing of note. Lynn Kilgore, Stephanie’s dad, rang the bell at the end of his radiation and now has 5 chemos left to go before getting a break, praise the Lord. Thanks to everyone who has said prayers for them. I’d appreciate if you kept them on your prayer list. 🙏

    1. I know first hand how hard this is to do when you’re in pain. You have to be courageous and breathe through the pain. My help in achieving this is with DMSO on my lower back mixed with coconut oil and -of course- medical marijuana. Sometimes it’s so bad I have to take Tylenol extra strength.

I love The Chosen, although I am way back on Season 2. My goal is to finish it before Easter.

    1. I’m glad I’m watching during this period of transition before we move from the bus to a house. I really don’t have much else to do until then.

    1. Thanks, Ernie. I knew I misspelled it!
I’m ready to move now, lol!
Just so Dave has more room to get ready for work in the morning.
Our bathroom on the bus is so tiny, he hits the walls doing anything.

  4. Good to read that you’re part way through settling into your new location, that Dave has started work and a new home is coming, sometime in the near future. I hope the start of targeted help with your back pain is happening too. Take care, Patricia

    1. Not yet, they told Dave his insurance doesn’t start until March-i guess so they can hold a check?
Anyway, if anything happens in the interim, I still have the VA and I can go to any ER and get treated and they will pay. Just praying that doesn’t happen.
