But I’m Ok With It
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “starts with ‘pre’.” Find a word that starts with “pre” and use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
With no preamble whatsoever, I’m here to announce that Dave bought himself a like-new, pre-owned truck. It’s been since we started traveling that he has done this so I’m happy because now we are back to a two-vehicle family and I won’t be stuck in the house every day.
They promised to make it quick, yet it never is. I ended up coming home after about an hour (and we left, went and picked the girls up from the groomer and went back!) and he was finally home about 30 minutes later! 🙄
It’s a done deal now though and he has almost a brand new Chevy Colorado. It is a 2026 but was pre-owned long enough for the guy to put 4,000 miles on it. Still has that new-car smell. It’s silver with black interior and has a voice-activated feature that lets you hunt an address on the screen without you having to look at your phone! I love that because I hate it when he’s driving and does that.

I’m glad he is such a wiz at math and finances. His credit is so good that he never needs preauthorization, in fact, he could have bought it outright but went ahead and financed part of it. I’m not bragging, I’m just saying, we are blessed.
I told him this truck could do for the time we are here and then if we want to get back to traveling when he retires again, he can trade it in on a bigger one to pull the fifth wheel we will probably buy once we sell the motor home. For now, we are going to store the motorhome in a nice, covered and temp-contrlled place in Lumberton, which is a trek from here, so I want all my stuff off of it before he takes it there.
We went today and got almost all of it.
I think we are almost settled in now. ☺️
