Have you ever been to a church who only talked about the grace and goodness of God? His peace and forgiveness of sins, yet never mentions His wrath?
Well, not my church!
We aren’t afraid to discuss the sins of man and what disobedience will get you. We don’t shy away from subjects dealing with inclusiveness or what happens when we worship false gods.
The wrath of God is just as real as the love of God.
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. Romans 1-18
I will execute great vengeance on them with wrathful rebukes. Then they will know that I am the Lord, when I lay my vengeance upon them.” Ezekiel 25-17
For behold, the Lord is coming out from his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity, and the earth will disclose the blood shed on it, and will no more cover its slain. Isaiah 26-21
These are just a few examples of places in the Bible that talk about the wrath of God. However, just like when your mom or dad punished you for your wrongdoings, they did it out of love. Afterward, they may have come up n and told you that just by behaving from now on, things would be better.
That’s what God told Israel as well. He would punish, but then He would bring them back to Him and put them back in their land! He is a covenant-keeping God as well.
Just like Pastor Kevin said to us today, we may not like it, but if those who murder, or rape ask God for forgiveness with their dying breath, He may give it to them. They might get a chance instead of being thrown into the lake of fire.
So let’s not invoke the wrath of God.
Let’s do what is necessary to stay on His good side. Personally, I’d rather see you all in Heaven. 🙏
