Appreciating God’s Creatures
I can’t stop trying to photograph the hummingbirds while they are still here.
I don’t have much time, so I make the most of it while out with the dogs.
Today I got bonuses! Pretty sure there were two different species of hummingbird, a cardinal, and a bunny! Let’s put them in a gallery shall we?

Is it just me, or are they getting fattened up for their eventual trip?

This bunny was not bothered y my dogs or me.
A while back I mentioned that we are doing a monthly Bible study. Called The Fingerprints of God by Jennifer Rothschild. Not only is she a brilliant public speaker, she has a beautiful singing voice. As impressive as she is, especially when you learn she is blind, we are also impressed with our own Noelle who is leading the classes. She sets up elaborate and festive decorations that somehow blend in seamlesslywith the lessons.
Tonight some of us were tasked with bringing pies. Renda was going to make one but came down sick, and I worked at my volunteer job, so I bought a pecan pie to take. Someone baked another, and there were pumpkin cream and apple too! So supper was actually a small piece of pumpkin and Kathy Ducote’s “runny” pecan pie which was absolutely delicious. Poor thing, her oven is acting up and her first one burned!
There was lots of water too. We were asked to write our names on one side and what makes us thirsty on the other. I said “exercise” makes me thirsty and lots of people had all kinds of different answers. She was leading us to talk about thirsting or being hungry for the word of God. Being hungry tied the pies in. The lesson was so much more than that though. Jennifer brought me to tears in her video where she talked about losing a baby in a miscarriage and how God had been writing a new song for her. She sang it in the operating room which brought the doctors and nurses to tears also!
I’m beginning to learn how an intimate relationship with God is different from a familiar relationship with Him. You must seek Him more often to be able to feel His touch in your life. Being in His word is good, listening to Christian music is too, yet if you’re not looking for it, you might miss it…His touch.
Like the song in her head that she’d never heard coming to her through the chaos and the depression and the anxiety she was feeling, her God gave her a new song and she sang it right back to Him. How beautiful is that?!
There’s so much more, so if you don’t know of her, look her up and see what you can find. She is one of God’s special angels!
