Buenas dias!
How is everyone this Jueves?
I live in Texas, the lone star state. It’s called that because the Texas flag has one star.

Our state capital and flag
We have a very diverse culture which includes lots of Spanish speaking Americans and so that is one reason I am learning Spanish. It’s not the lone reason, however. I took a little (poco) Spanish in elementary school and the interest in learning the language has always been there. I learned a bit more in the service, later on I found Duolingo and learned some more, but soon abandoned my lessons. I’m determined to go further this time, and with Duolingo, it is so much fun and easy to reach those daily goals. Now that I have Plus, I can learn with unlimited hearts, which makes the learning even faster!
I used to live in Austin when I was a child, my dad had a temporary work assignment there, I think we lived there for about 6 months or so, in the Round Rock area. We lived in an apartment and I recall there was a little deaf girl that lived above s that I used to play with. That probably influenced my decision to later work in the medical field. I can still remember she used to get so frustrated with her disability because she would stomp her feet. That should have deterred me from ever wanting to live in an apartment again, but it didn’t. I lived in a few.
Austin is a nice place to visit, but I would not want to live there, lo siento. (I’m sorry) It’s traffic is too hard to take, and also the political environment is not to my way of thinking, if you know what I mean. 😉 My cousin Maria lives there though, so I like to visit her when I can. 🙂
Hasta luego! (See you later!)
