SoCS 12-11-21 A Carpet of Leaves

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is โ€œtree.โ€ Use the word โ€œtreeโ€ or write about a tree. Any kind of tree. Enjoy!

My front yard, part of it anyway

Whether from the lack of rain or its just that time of year, but the oak trees in the front yard seemed to drop tons of leaves at once, creating a carpet of leaves over the grass.

Not that anyone will see the lovely spectacle, because my husband and I both contracted the virus. ๐Ÿ˜” Now, we have been sequestered from each other all week, he found out he had it on Tuesday and they made him go get tested. Wednesday, I went to my brotherโ€™s house to greet cousin Marie and noticed while we were waiting for her cousin Patsy to get there, I wasn’t feeling well. We visited for a few minutes and then I unfortunately had to get home, I was exhausted and scared I also might have it.

Thursday was my dadโ€™s memorial, luckily I sat on the front row and was flanked by my brother and Marie, who have both been vaccinated. I just knew I wasnโ€™t about to miss my dadโ€™s memorial. I felt crummy, but got through it and went straight home, called the doctor, got a phone visit and got scheduled for the COVID test yesterday. I was positive, so from there I made an a appointment to go get an infusion of monoclonal antibodies, and my doctor started me on a Z-pak and a regimen of vitamins. C-1000mg every 6 hours, D3 4,000 units daily, zinc 220mgs daily. I went to bed last night about 10, Iโ€™ve been up since 4, and I have to say, I feel less achy and less swimmy in the head.

I just got up and got a dose of Tylenol and even though itโ€™s still dark, I could see the carpet of leaves from the street light. The trees will keep dropping them (and killer acorns) until they are bare, and then, maybe when we get to feeling better, the raking will begin.

  4. I had graciously read this to me! We are both saddened for you and Dave, but glad that you are both on top of trying to get better! I am so glad that you made it to the service. 1. Thank you! I long to be able to go rake or something, all this sitting around is making me hurt, not to mention boring me to death. I have been able to go and work on my Diamond Art too some.
No, they couldnโ€™t stay here, they stayed in a hotel not far from Kevin.

    2. Dave found out he was positive on Tuesday and they were due to come on Wednesday, so I called her and she said she would stay at a hotel. I told her Dadโ€™s house was also available, but they chose to stay at a hotel.

  5. Meant to say that dad graciously read it to me, good grief! I know it is tough, but just count your blessings on what you can do which is a lot when you think about it!
