Today’s the Day!

Word of the Day Challenge

I’m probably going to drink a ton of water today while waiting in the surgery center for Dave to undergo his procedure.

He had another basal cell cancer grow right back in the same spot where they removed in in 2016, so he’s having MOHS surgery to remove it again. I’m more nervous than he is …or maybe not. When they called him back, he didn’t even kiss me! So maybe a little.

I got maybe another two hours of sleep last night. I think it’s these antibiotics. I don’t remember my dreams this time. They put me on Levoflaxacin, which does a number on you! It can cause tendon tears and all sorts of nasty side effects, so I quit vaping, I’d already stopped the alcohol, and I’m too scared to use my sleep gummies at night, so that’s why I can’t sleep. Last night, I even tried Sleepy Time tea, to no avail.

Anyway, enough of our problems. Let’s look at some nice pictures I took on my short walk yesterday.
Oh, he’s out already for the first (and hopefully only) stage! If they didn’t get it all, he will have to go back in and they will cut more out. It’s right next to the corner of his eye. 🫣

Isn’t this Lantana beautiful?

My brother lives on Little Ranch Road, and on my walk I took a few pics of my observations. Lantana grows plentifully here and it gets to be huge!

Beautiful yard and sculptured bushes.
This is a gorgeous fence! The company sign and phone number is even displayed in case you want to order one for yourself!

Rain was in the forecast and did indeed arrive last night. I know it’s coming when I study the skies.

The only thing I don’t like about the road my brother lives on is the speed bumps! I always go a different route but my husband isn’t bothered by them.

Well, I didn’t bring a sketch pad, so I guess I’ll catch up on your posts and then read a book unless he comes back and says we can go. 🙏

  2. Praying for your husband! So glad you are feeling better.
Keep us posted. There is nothing like the wait game at the hospital.

    1. No hospital. Girl, you would not believe the hole they cut in my man’s face! No sedation, just a local anesthetic and Tylenol! Next week, they will do plastic surgery using skin from his forehead to cover the hole, same deal, no sedation! It seems so cruel!

  4. I hope they get it all out and Dave doesn’t have to go back. It’s such a worry. Insomnia is not nice. I have a lot of trouble with it. My,experience with these teas are: some work some don’t and it also have something to do with how our minds work. When I made a ritual out of drinking tea just before bed or even in bed my mind connected it with ” now bed time I get tired” but it needs a while. I hope you get better sleep tonight.

    1. Thank you, I’m very tired. Maybe now that Dave’s first surgery is over, I can rest. They go in next week to do plastic surgery on the big hole it left.
