Well, it’s been a busy week already and I’m off to a positive start. Got to the VA, yesterday I got my MRI scheduled for the 14th of this month, and last night we met my sister and her husband while noshing on some ok Mexican food.
Aren’t they a cute couple! Barb and Frank. My sister from another mister. 😉

I’m sure we will be seeing a lot of each other while here, as much as their time as they can spare. They are both still working, for the benefits as well as extra income. They have kids they want us to meet and we got along like old best friends, even though we’ve never really met.
Frank was warm and funny and Barb was as curious as me about the mysterious way our mother was. I was shocked to learn that the story was a bit different than what I’d been told, it was, in fact, a blatant lie my mother told me. Maybe she was ashamed of her actions, but she told me when she was pregnant with Barb, they sent her to a home for unwed mothers and made her give the baby up for adoption.
Barb was lucky enough to be raised by an older, caring couple that could probably give her a better life than Mom could at the time. What she left out was that it was an ‘arranged’ adoption. No more details until I have her permission to share, but that isn’t the only untruth my mother told, so I half expected what Frank was revealing to us.
I’m sure many more questions will be asked and answered in the process of getting to know her, yet I am excited! It’s so cool that only a few short miles separate us.

Other than meeting Barb and Frank, we also went sightseeing a little and we got to see Juno Beach. Unfortunately for me, walking is so painful that I need Dave’s help, but while we were there, we got a few pics. We had the beach to ourselves…again! Remember our journey to Edisto?
The wind at Juno Beach made it a little cool, even though it was sunny. And like Destin, the beach is not flat like Texas beaches, you have to go down a bit of a slope to get to the water. But how pretty the water was!!
Then we went to Walmart to get groceries and a prescription I needed, so I used the basket to support me as I hobbled around. It gives you some appreciation of good health and awareness of those who are disabled, I tell you!
Frank told us we are going to see some big money when we go see some things in Palm Beach. Millionaires like Donald Trump and Tiger Woods live here and he said expensive cars and boats are the norm. More exploring is in our future!
I put a map of where we are in proximity to Palm Beach.
