Riding Around

Yesterday, as we waited on our Jeep to get finished at the shop, I asked Dave to go do something fun in the rental Nissan while we had it. Since all I can do is ride right now, walking is difficult still.

So we just went driving around, up to see what the Palm Beach area looked like, and where Donald Trump lives part of the year at Mar-a-lago. Many wealthy people live here, like Tiger Woods and others.

I got to go on my first ever drawbridge while it was raised and put down. The thrill was short-lived. It takes a long time! And they raise it every 15 minutes on hour. So in our travels, we crossed one three times and twice we had to wait.

I didn’t really know the destination, I was just along for the ride. Dave headed for the beach, I’m sure, but things aren’t laid out the same way here as they are in Texas. Since Florida is such a long state, it seems you’re always on the road to get somewhere longer than necessary. Running parallel to the beach instead of towards it. Then, if you’re in an exclusive area, you aren’t getting to the beach easily. Dave pulled to a paid parking area and I quickly got out and snapped this sneak peek before getting in and pulling away.

I stopped long enough to get out and get this quick beach shot.

We did make it up on S Palm Beach Rd, not realizing at the time we were driving straight for Mar-a-Lago! It was the second time around we knew that’s what we were seeing a small peek of. Security is everywhere around the house, even in the water. I guess it’s that way 24/7 if you’ve been The President before, whether you’re home or not! We’re pretty sure the man on the jet ski was security, even though he had no identifiable signs.

We stopped at a spot on the connecting road to try to see it from the water side, but of course, trees block most of the view. From there we could also see the downtown area of West Palm Beach. Late afternoon, we stopped for lunch because we were starving, and the wealthy people in their cool sports cars drove by and since we were dining on the patio, we got to see a Lamborghini and a Jaguar.

Looks tasty, but it was rather dry. Sauced up, they were good.

Where we stopped to eat was a small beachy place called Cathy’s Beach Connection. It’s called that because it’s an extension of a different restaurant next to it. I had the mini sliders and sweet potato fries. Dave had a chicken sandwich and some regular fries. We also tried to share what was touted as key lime pie, but tasted like a can of condensed milk with sugar added! No lime at all! I had a bite or two and that was it. Dave loved it.

I didn’t take pics of the fancy cars this time, but maybe in the future. I asked Dave if he thought it was lucky he had a wife who didn’t care about stuff like that. Having expensive sports cars and millions of dollars, you know. He said had I been , I married the wrong man. I laughed and said that no, I definitely married the right man! ☺️🤗😉

    1. Aww, thank you Kymber! I wonder if the CBD/THC combo is just relaxing the nerves or helping with inflammation. Whatever, I’m hoping they can get good images on the MRI when I finally get it!
