Basking in the Glow

Ahhh, my heart is filled with joy and I’m basking in the afterglow of such a wonderful evening.

Barb and Frank invited us to Christmas dinner last night and what a festive evening it was.

She made me what she was drinking and I had Dave take our picture together.

Daughter Katie (the super talented) and her new beaux Sean were there looking festive and so adorable 🥰

Friends Dawn and Chris also attended but I neglected to get them on film. Sorry, next time!

While we ate, Barb got a FaceTime call from son Travis, so I got to meet him. He looked confused at who I was, but seemed very nice. ☺️

The menu Barb was feverishly trying to pull together with the help of Frank and Chris:

Prime rib

chicken

bacon-wrapped fresh green beans

mashed potatoes and gravy

Mac and cheese

sweet potatoes

Plus snacks, desserts and goodies.

Later on, when everyone left and I had time alone with Barb, she showed me videos of Katie from the past in various show oriented situations. One was with Steve Harvey that just had me rolling on the floor. She was teaching him how to do the tush push, and she was so calm and professional! I’d have been a nervous wreck. She is the ultimate performer and truly missed her calling. She can sing, dance, and she is so pretty! I guess I have a Katie crush, lol!

If you go to YouTube and type in Steve Harvey -Look Back at It, you’ll see her. She used to work for Disney World in various positions which honed her talents I’m sure!

Sometime during the evening, I did FaceTime with my boys, but had trouble with the connection. Kevin, Chris, Sean, and Stephen all had dinner together at Kevin’s house. They looked full and happy!

Wilson, Katie’s dog, kept us all in stitches with his goofy antics!

Wilson enjoyed his new dog bed.
Sean, Katie, and Wilson-so handsome 🥰

While Chris (Dawn’s other half) was there, he shared his experience with his back surgery with me and his nerve block injection so I’ll know what to expect. As far as I know right now, I’m on the schedule for a consult to get the injection which will be done like an out-patient procedure. I’ll keep ya posted.

When we first arrived at Barbs, I was moving pretty freely, but by the time we left, I was pretty stiff. Relief is coming soon, I can feel it! I hope you all enjoyed your Christmas as much as I ended up enjoying mine and are now basking in the glow of joy.

      1. His biscuits were really good. He is used to my aiming the camera at him and is very cooperative.
