SoCS Home And Running

(rules)

We arrived at my brother’s house Thursday afternoon, and it took about an hour or two to offload the bus. We didn’t grab everything, as we will be making several trips out there.

We were barely rested when we heard that my brother-in-law was getting hitched at the courthouse, and we were all to go to dinner at Frijoles when they got done.

Bubba (Robert) and Naz-she is Maria’s sister and they are from Brazil.

So we got changed and freshened up up, and went to dinner. Here we all are at the table.

Sorry, I’m blurry for some reason! David took the pic, but he has a better one taken by our favorite waiter.

Left is myself, Bubba, Maria, and Gary. Right is Kevin, (not mine), his wife, Naz (Bubba’s new wife), and Stephen, Bubba’s son.

I was dressed in plain clothes, because I was rushed and barely even did my hair for the occasion. In fact, they beat us to the restaurant!

Another reason we were busy is that our oldest boy had been in San Antonio for a few months, and suddenly they decided that they were moving to Ohio, and we only had one afternoon to visit before they left this morning bright and early, not by plane, but their friend and associate drove down here to pick them up!!

We got some pics of them and a new puppy while here.

The silly thing leaped straight into my brother’s pool!

David took a turn holding her.

Whiskey was not happy about it!
Shari holding her right after retrieving her from the cold pool.
Joshua holding his baby. Her name is Chica.

Then, last night we attended a birthday party at Gary’s house for a mutual friend. Dave, Chris, and I joined Bub, Naz and other friends from Bass Camp along with Mike’s lifelong friends to celebrate his 67th birthday. It was so windy and cool, most of us stayed indoors, eating provided snacks and goodies, while talking together about Bub and Naz getting married and other relevant topics. I was alcohol free as I have been this whole week until last Thursday night at dinner.

Gary, Mike (Earl), and friends.

I’m figuring out that if I drink anything at all, even one, makes me hurt so bad the next day that it isn’t worth it. It causes inflammation, which causes the nerves in my lower back to flare up. My new concoction is working well to curb the inflammation and keep me off the steroids.

Anyway, I’m hoping today we can just relax and enjoy being home! Soon, we have to start working on rehabbing the bus, getting Dr appointments taken care of and visiting friends. Today though, I want to do my crossword, maybe work on my diamond 💎 art, and breathe!

Happy Easter everyone!
