After a mostly uneventful trip yesterday except for the brief but intimidating storm we encountered in Decatur, Texas, we stayed at a very basic, primitive spot off the road near Amarillo last night.

I walked to the end of the park and shot this pic of our rig before anyone else showed up. Then another from back to front to illustrate the point.

You basically got a spot to park with hookups, no amenities at all, no view but the scary looking skies, and feeling like sitting ducks, but we managed fine.

Looking at all of this you’d feel like a target as well, but we worried for nothing. Sure the rain, thunder, and lightening came, but no high winds or damaging hail thank the good Lord!
Tonight we are in another small park in Tijeras, New Mexico (Hidden Valley) but at least this one has a manned office, a heated pool (not even up for that tonight), and a dog park but we haven’t located it yet because there hasn’t been a need to. Soon.
I’m super tired but happy to be in our home and on the road again. I can’t seem to sleep a whole night through, and the long stretches of sitting aren’t helping my back. Time to stretch and do my exercises after this!
Tomorrow we will drive the rest of the way and be in Colorado. Ready to get out of these dusty towns and be in the beautiful fresh air. Got a preview of the calendar for the month. The Resort has its own restaurant, and the have taco/margarita nights on Thursday! Every Thursday! So we will get to keep our “date night” same as usual. I’ve cut the drinking down to just that night so I’m not experiencing as much inflammation, or that’s what I tell myself anyway.
I’m excited for the new adventure on this leg of our journey. Here are a few pics from today’s travel. Sorry its not much, but I was too tired for much today.

Currently enjoying a can of Arizona Tea with ginseng and honey and looking forward to homemade fajita salad. Sandwiches get old quickly! When paying for gas and RV spots, we try to eat in as much as possible. We got a few necessities at the store to make dinner, since we left some of our refrigerated items at Kevin’s in the mad dash to finish packing up the motorhome. We had cereal, bread and some bologna, and our condiments and chips. I had soup and crackers for dinner last night, because I was still full from a lunch of sandwich, pickle and chips.
Good night for now, I’m starting to babble. 🤣🤗😘🙏
