Bursting with News!

Hello everyone and how is yourTuesday going?

Well! Mine is just splendid! I got a gig!! I’m about to burst at the seams, I’m so exited! I have a contract and everything! Want to know what it is??

To start, I’m a member of several RV clubs. One such club is FMCA-Family Motor Coach Association.

I shared an interest to write a guest post for their blog-FMCAAdventures and today I got the news. I’m to write 4 posts for them, two this year and two next year. In exchange, they extended my membership for a year. That has already been done, per the contract agreement, so now I have until Aug 1 to write my first post and submit it for approval.

I made sure to put the due dates on my calendar with reminders a week before the due date so I don’t forget.

That’s exiting, right?

If and when my first blog post is published I’ll let you know and provide a link.

On a second subject, I went to my first activity here this morning-mahjong. Boy is it different than playing the mahjong matching game on my iPad! I played with two ladies, Judy and Gayle, with Judy teaching me the game. Its fun, but confusing until you learn the tiles. Its played like gin rummy.

Judy gave me a link so I can join the online community, learn better how to play, and order my playing card. They gave me one-ssshhhhh-to practice with until I learn, but Judy assured me I was catching on quick. A game usually goes for a couple of hours.

Tonight is game night, and we might play Screw Your Neighbor or maybe mahjong again if enough people come.

Judy also runs a Jeep touring company, but said she would take us soon to see some things further up in the mountains. She calls it “going jeeping”. I can’t wait! I’m so happy to meet a few people and see that they are all friendly and welcoming! Plus that gives me something to do besides the same old routine.

Its been a busy morning but all my stuff is done, and I’m happy with myself. I would say today has been a great day!

    1. Thanks so much! I’m very excited even though its not exactly a paying gig…gree club membership and more eyes on my work is worth it to me. 🤗 Mahjong seems complex, but I started picking it up as we played. I’ll be a pro in no time, hopefully! 🤣☺️

  6. Congratulations on the gig! And on the learning on real mahjong. I want to know more about the symbols. I’d love to hear the clicking of the tiles and feel the cool smoothness as I play.

    2. Thank you! I learned the suits by symbol yesterday, dots, cracks, winds, and mahjong tiles. Its hard not to look at numbers, but they will through you off when trying to make your hand according to your suit card.

      1. I am lost even in what you are saying. Guess I need to go research the game more. Yeah, the matching part is easy and fun when you don’t want to concentrate but I bet with real people it is challenging.

      2. Yes, its not a matching game at all, its like playing Rummy!

  7. Sounds like quite the day. Congrats on getting the blogging gig! I’ve only ever played mahjong against a computer opponent, but it seems like a fun game.
