I picked the warmest part of the day to take my walk, but I got my 3,000 steps in. Now I’ll need to walk again later, but until then, we have Linda G Hill’s Saturday challenge to conquer.
Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “shirt.’” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!
Linda G. Hill
The shirt I am wearing is green and sleeveless, however, its double layered fabric. So it’s dark and hot. But I didn’t want to take the time to change because once I’ve decided to move my tush, I don’t want to get distracted. Its hard enough for me to get motivated.
The shirt has a cutout lacy front but because its double layered, its not see-through. Its now stuck to my back, and worse, I think I smell. But first, le5 me show you a few pics I took along the way.
I must always walk near the water somewhere during the trek. So I walked to a deeper part of the river where I was almost tempted to just get in. I’m not as fearless as I used to be. The rocks and river bottom are slimy, so what if I fell in?
I walked down the river walk trail to the bench chair and at first just sat and stared at the deep, clear water watching for a fish. I’ve never seen one in the water since we’ve been here!
This time was no different, but I did take some pics.

You can see that the river curves around to where we can’t see that it flows into the town of Dolores. If there’s a waterfall anywhere, I know not where that is. There is a bridge of rocks further down that someone constructed. There is supposed to be otters in this river, but it runs many miles towards Telluride. Maybe they are further down where there are way less people.
I saw huge dandelions and took a pic of one.

After the river and somewhere down the path to the cabins, yurts, and covered wagons, I saw this invasive ivy growing all over this tree. Do you know what it is? I’ve never seen such.

I’ve been somewhat productive today too. I finally got another batch of rocks tumbling, some from Echo Basin, some from here. When Dave got back from his trek, he checked my tumbler, cause to me, its not rolling smoothly. He handed me two more rocks he asked to be included, and I dropped them in.

These were included in the batch plus two big ones Dave brought back. I swear the rubber has burnt off my wheel, but Dave says its still working, so I guess we’ll see and ill check on them tomorrow. You leave this batch running for 4-5 days before moving to step two.
Next, I made some earrings that really challenged me, although they look so simple. I might give you a peek later, but I can’t right now because they are gifts for my Mahjong ladies. Friend Judy brought alcohol when she visited me here, but I’m going to be alone and driving when I go, so that is a no-no. So instead I’m making each of the ladies some funky earrings.
I didn’t have much in the way of beads and gems, so I had to work with what I had. I stuffed what fit in my tool bag before leaving home, and luckily I had enough materials for several pairs of earrings, and I can wire wrap things as well, but did not on this day.
If my eyes and fingers worked as well as they used to, I could also weave bracelets, but I kept it simple today.
And now, I feel the need to get out of this shirt and maybe even grab a shower! I stink!!
