This is my brother’s house, on the corner of Steward and Little Ranch Road. This is our “home base” until we get our own. It has been for the past two years since we started our adventurous lifestyle.
He generously provides this space for us so we don’t have to stay in an rv park, or a hotel when we come home to Texas.
It was here yesterday that David put on the new tow bar, right there in the driveway, a job that took most of the day to accomplish.
Now that it’s done, that’s one more thing off our list. Had we not been staying here, that might have been difficult to achieve.
I’m grateful that my brother provides this comfortable space for us, even though I might sometimes tease him about his bachelor lifestyle.
He is a faithful friend, brother, son, and lay pastor at his church. He’s been a comfort to me and so many others. I appreciate him and wanted to share a bit about him as sort of an ode to his kindness.
While I was taking my walk yesterday, I snapped the photo above because I realized I had never shared his house before, and so you might have a visual of where it is we call ‘home’ until we find our own.
This week has been birthday week. My dad and Dave’s dad’s heavenly birthdays, then my youngest son-Chris’s, then my Aunt Connie’s heavenly, and finally my OG bestie, Kaye’s. Whew! That’s a busy birthday week!
I spoke with both Chris and Kaye yesterday on the phone since they are both out of town working.
My brother -Kevin -arrived home from Mexico yesterday where he was for a pastor’s conference in Rio Bravo. He does the cooking and serving, he is not a church leader but very involved with his church-Bear Creek Bible Church, which I also attend.
We enjoyed dinner together at home before he headed off to bed, as he had an early morning work obligation.
There you have it, a bit about my brother, his house, and my gratitude. I hope you all have a blessed day and remember what you are grateful for as we get closer to November and Thanksgiving.
