SoCS-A Sumptous Meal

Linda Hill gives us this prompt for today.

Oh! How I wish I’d have taken a pic of the yummy dinner Dave made last night!

He has been learning how to cook well on the new Ninja Pellet Smoker/grill that he bought himself a few months ago.

He fixed New York strip, baked potatoes (sweet for me) and a salad. It was the best effort since he began cooking with this tool.

Melt to n your mouth meat, potato perfection, and crispy vegetables and lettuce made for some truly delicious eats.

(I have a gripe about my editor, so help if you can. Recently, I’ve lost the ability to go back and correct my typos! 😡)

Normally, we cook, eat, and the meal is cleaned up all in the space of 15-30 minutes, but last night we savored our food. The dogs were also in heaven, being allowed a few bites, including steak fat.

Afterwards, we headed across the street to the clubhouse, where resident and performer Stevie D was entertaining us with music for old and younger crowds. We laughed, met newcomers, and danced for a while.

I was extra careful and basically swayed at sort of rocked to the beat, resting in between songs. I am not supposed to be exercising, but she also said to listen to my body. I’ve been taking short walks and doing gentle stretches until last night. I have to dance!

Walking, soon swimming (when it warms up around here) and riding my bike are all possible now. My friends are chomping at the bit for us to join them on group rides.

I’m all about the food too and I miss our dinners with friends and my sister and her family, so I suggested to friends Lisa and Lou that we need to go to Duffy’s again soon. They agreed!
