Wait, what?!
Yes, its sort of true! We have been doing group indoor walking classes and today the ‘boss’ let me “lead” by picking my favorite walking videos. I did stand in the front, but I was in good company in the front row.
She was impressed by the simple, yet intense short workout, but it was shorter than the one I actually wanted, so we did part of another one by a different lady. The class loved that one too because it was set to music by ABBA.
These exercises are specifically for women over 50. They are easy, yet target certain muscles. The pace is more reasonable than some, but we were all sweating by the end which is the point! They are done at your own pace, but the beauty is, you can do them in your own living room and stay off icy roads or stormy weather and still say you worked out!!
Short clips are 15 minutes and long ones like we do are thirty. Miles walked range from 1-2, and cover 2,000 + steps, depending on your liking. (its at your own pace, remember?) Some will get more steps than others depending on how you keep up, or how many you add on.
I know that sounds confusing, but try it for yourself and you’ll see what I’m talking about. Shelly liked the lady’s classes ( her name is also Shelly) and her Australian accent. You have so much fun, you don’t realize how much time has passed, and then you are done!
She builds your confidence while she shows you the movements, also set to music, with a handy timer to watch in the corner of the screen. She tells you how good your doing, etc. Some of you may remember this from when I did them at home -back when we had one.
I will share the link in case you want to try it yourself. On a smart tv, just go to youtube and look up Fabulous 50’s -she has hundreds of videos, short to long. Some she incorporates weights. If you don’t have weights, use a couple of full, unopened, water bottles.
Shelly is pictured up top of this post. Now you’ll know her when you see her on YouTube!
