V-Day Fun & Love

I was up first this morning but laid in bed doing my Bible study. So Dave woke up and got up. That way, he was first to see his Valentine.

I’d purchased a card, in which I wrote a special poem to go with the heart craft I had previously made him, and some candy like you’d get at the movies, in case he was tired of his beloved Reese’s.

I was proud of my semi-home made and heart felt gift. We don’t spend big money on the day anymore, we’ve been married long enough to know what we like and want.

Dave later brought me the card he got me with a bag of my favorite sugar-free Russel Stover’s candy. I was fine with that!

When lunch time rolled around, he asked if I’d like to go out. I agreed and since he gave me the choice, I picked a place popular with our friends, but new to us. Papachulos.

We took a selfie and I posted it on Facebook with the check-in.

I felt bad I wasn’t dressed as nice.

David had a tasty bowl with grilled chicken, rice, salsa, beans, guacamole and corn. I had a poke tuna tostada and fried plantains. Let me just say, poke is an acquired taste, but I got through it. The plantains helped!

Poke tuna with coconut and sliced almonds.

It was not firm, not cooked, and had a texture I can’t describe. I covered it with salsa and ate a bit of plantain as soon as I had swallowed it.

The plantains were delicious!

Yes, I know you see my drink. I broke my fast for this celebratory lunch and I’m back to it tomorrow until then end of February as planned. I hate the paper straws by the way. Its another texture thing. It feels weird on my tongue.

After lunch, Dave fell asleep watching golf, and I went to the pool to relax my aching back and hips. My daily workouts are helping, but they are also a beat down. I was so tired by tonight’s gathering to dance at the clubhouse, we did not stay long.

Poor Dave was feeling tired as well due to little sleep and he’s feeling a bit of a sore throat. My hope and prayer is that it’s just allergies.

I don’t know if its just me, or if all women regardless of age, have hopes of romance at the end of it all, but you know, love is just being together and sharing the things you love as a couple.

Romance comes when it comes, and you go with the flow. I had a wonderful day with my love and I’m perfectly satisfied with that. ❤️

Besides, tomorrow is the corn hole tournament, so we need to rest up! 😉

I appreciate and love you all!! HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

    1. Thank you so much. As usual, I felt underdressed, but its really casual anywhere in Florida.
