Yesterday, some of my gal pals and I went to the Amazon return shop and looked for some discounted merch. A different friend had gone a few days before, coming back with a cute bathing suit that only cost $3.99 per piece!
Dave knew our plan, so he gave me his credit card and told me to get what I wanted. I wanted a mask for snorkeling like I got him for his birthday, so I was hoping there would be one there, along with the discounted bathing suits.
What a cool place! There were a few items that weren’t clothing, but we couldn’t believe how many clothing items there were. Racks and racks of bathing suits, shoes and more. I got a bra and two tankini tops, and a pair of matching bottoms. I also snagged a cute little purse and some board shorts at the thrift store down the block from where we were.
The whole lot at the Amazon store came in at under $20, and I spent another $7 at the thrift store. (with cash) Dave could see what I spent with his cc, because he gets alerts on his phone. He thought it was typical of me to barely spend anything on myself.
Shopping gets me sidetracked, so sorry. The surprise came later, that afternoon. We set a plan to grab lunch quickly at home and then go to the clubhouse and play games because of the threat of storms.
When we got there, everyone was waiting and Ru spun around with a home made Pina Colada cake and that was the surprise. My birthday is actually tomorrow, but Ru and John will be in Tampa to see her sister. She didn’t want me to miss out on the tradition. (she has been making everyone’s birthday cakes lately.)
So basically, the whole day was a ruse to keep me away while everyone else planned this little get together. They laughed because I couldn’t understand why no one wanted to grab lunch while we were out.
Did I take pictures? Nope, not a one. I don’t know if anyone else did either. 🤣😂

Turns out Lisa and Carrie both took pictures. Those candles were tough to light with the wind from the storm.

I was surprised, embarrassed, and loathe to eat cake, since I’m trying to stay off sugar.
I did eat half a piece though, because Ru is a fabulous baker and how could I not? That would have been rude. 😉
I love my friends and so appreciate the surprise.

Carrie also gave me a set of her wonderful nail wraps, how sweet was that! When I decide to use them, ill take a pic and show you. I’m going to save them for a spring outfit sometime in the future.
