Today, because we took an excursion -with half the park it seemed, to Peanut Island, where I got in almost 10,000 steps! I’m over that now, since a few more hours have passed.
What a fabulous day sightseeing, searching for Iguanas, and snorkeling in the crystal clear waters. It’s about a mile around the island, and friends Carrie, Rick, Deb & I took it slow while searching for the temperate beasts.
We found several, they hang out in trees, but none the bright colors I was hoping for. We saw a lovely lagoon, with water so clear you can see fish, rocks, and sand from up on the bridge.

I believe we were around 24 who decided to brave the chilly waters to take advantage of the morning sun while snorkeling around the rocks and marveling at the brightly colored fish. My goodness, I wish I had an underwater camera because words can’t describhow cool it was seeing schools of striped, or multi-colored fish.
Some found beautiful shells, but we were only allowed to bring back ones that were empty. I was too busy chasing fish through treacherous rocks when the waves rocked and knocked me around. I was using Dave’s new full mask snorkel, after braving the cold, that is. Next, we will have to get a go-peo to attach to the snorkel mask so we can photograph all the gorgeous fish we saw!

Coming soon, the International boat show featuring $40 billion worth of boats in one place, the only place you can see that! I hope we can attend, or spy from a bridge or something.
The ride on the huge, commercial pontoon boat was cool, because we got a tour of the rich and famous. Everyone from Madonna to Martha Stewart has or has had a home in Jupiter or West Palm Beach. Peanut Island is just across from Riviera Beach on one side and Palm Beach Shores on the other. I believe the famous live there.

The short ferry ride was quite expensive (to me) at $46 and change, just because we brought a wagon aboard to haul our stuff over. Try carrying beach chairs, bags, towels, your purse and a drink tumbler without one! Anyway, they know they can get at least $40 a pop per couple, so they do. And we are supposed to tip the captains! We bless and thank our good pal Jimmy (NYJ) for the use f his wagon. I ain’t scared, so I asked and he said “Of course.” He is currently staying out of the sun, so he couldn’t go.

I need to write more, but its getting late, so while I can still use the editor, I’ll just insert the gallery of photos you haven’t seen yet. More to come, plus what happened at my birthday dinner last night at The Moose Lodge with my sister, Barb. Stay tuned!
