SoCS – Under Pressure

Good evening, I know I am late to Linda’s shindig today, but we’ve been busy.

David wanted to go to Dolores today and I wanted to also go to Cortez. More on that in a minute. We are supposed to be dealing with something that opens.

We are still opening jars and bottles of stuff that are under pressure due to the higher altitude. Its something that you naturally forget about until –splat-as the contents kind of burst through the tiny opening. No huge messes have been made so far…unless you count Mio shooting across my brand new countertop. Don’t worry, I cleaned it quickly but Dave says Corian doesn’t stain. Bonus!

So after breakfast and morning stuff we took off to Dolores. First stop was the “Bait Shop” what ch isn’t called that at all. Dave got flies and I got snacks, haha. They have the best flavored popcorn! We then went to Dolores River Rv Park where we stayed last year after Echo Basin. Guess we are repeating the pattern this year.

We went down to the fish tanks as Dave calls them. He tried fly fishing a while and I walked my legs off. It is a huge area with four large man-made bodies of water that are stocked with trout. He usually does better there than the river. I took a ton of pics.

When Dave had tried with both kinds of rods, we finally wentbro Cortez. Its really my favorite little town in the triangle because there are lots of places to go, things to do, and a Walmart as well as a few great dispensaries.

Mancos and Dolores are quaint and cute but don’t have much and what they do have is expensive.

Walmart filled our grocery needs and then we went for a late lunch early dinner at Tequilas. I had the Mexican pizza and Dave had a burrito, which isn’t normal farefor either if us. It was, however, delicious and I’m still full at have past six!

Before we headed home, we stopped at the dispensary for me and my needs. They werentbon sale but with my military discount, it was still a deal. Opening the pop-tops on these sodas is a challenge for me cause I have no nails right now, but a knife tip does the trick. The Keef Rootbeers are delicious but unfortunately, have quite a bit of sugar. I believe the name of the store is Nu-Vue. I normally go to Livwell, but they have been out of the sodas.

Its probably time to walk the dogs, so I’ll close for now. It has been a much better day than yesterday -we did absolutely nothing to celebrate the 4th. It was just another Friday.
