Off-Road Walking

I started down the road on my afternoon walk, stopped to take a picture of a pond on the property next door to us, then turned and started walking across the property toward the office, pool, bar and grill/wedding venue, and house that provides laundry and restrooms.

I thought that maybe with the hills and other ups and downs, my walk might burn more calories. I walked into the office to chat with Gayle, who works and lives on the property in a park model, and to catch my breath and check the mail.

Gayle and I chatted for about fifteen minutes before my trek back which took me through the park, playground, and pickleball court before I decided to pick up the road again. I was aware of my hair and the feeling of having hair to blow around and realized it’s been a long time of growing to get here. At its longest point, its about to the top of my back.

I can rarely pass my favorite pond without taking a picture for a new perspective. I tried to win a prize with one of my pond pics last year, but didn’t make it. There’s another view.

Where the jeep is, that’s where my friend Judy lives. She has a new RV this year!

Across the road from our site, we are treated to cows grazing in their fields, occasionally we wake up to some decent mooing from over there. Further down the road in the wooded area, we sometimes spot deer. The other day we saw a couple of fawns, their white spots visible through the foliage. Mom had to be near, but we didn’t see her and we never see a buck.

A couple of cows I took a picture of the other day while walking the dogs.

My step count right now is over 3, 600 and my exercise ring is closed. I’ll probably fit in another walk, maybe shorter, later or after dinner. Speaking of dinner, tomorrow evening, we are driving to meet Florida friends Karen and Scotty in Cortez for dinner. They have been traveling through Utah and made their way here to go to Mesa Verde again and some other highlights. It will be fun to catch up. I will do my best to remember to take pictures!
