SOCS – I Prefer Biscuits

Toast is so Plain

Linda says, “Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “toast.” Use it as a noun, use it as a verb, use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!”

This morning I was treated to eggs, Dave makes them so delicious, biscuits, sausage, and cantaloupe for a sit-down breakfast. Yes, I had to get out of bed for this one. It was so worth it! Buttered biscuits with molasses makes me happy. It reminds me of my grandmother every time. Tinned biscuits are no match to homemade however. Either way, I prefer biscuits to toast.

He has been babying me and my bad back lately. In fact, I wanted to get out of here and go to Ouray and sit in the hot springs but he said lets wait a few days because he’s concerned about me and the long car ride. Its over two hours away, and I m supposed to get up every twenty to thirty minutes…which has been helping!

Plus, we walk. At least twice a day we go for a walk around the park, or drive somewhere else and walk. But eating? That I can do anytime and my belly is starting to show it! I was outraged to learn that I was almost as much as Jooshua!

Now the steroids made me eat some extra, but I’ve also been indulging in a small bowl of gelato at night a bit after dinner. And we’ve not been eating the healthy foods we normally do. I’m determined to get stronger, walk further, and drop a few pounds. All in good time, though, all in good time.

  1. I prefer toast over biscuits! Biscuits are very dry me, even with better! However, every once in a while I do crave biscuits and cream gravy!
I do not see Joshua as being a big boy! Are you smaller or taller than him? Those steroids will make you do that! Do they say that you need to gain weight?
I am so glad that Dave has been babying you! You deserve it, especially now! Do you feel better when you come back from the walk? I am assuming you will start stretching before you go on the walk? So you are staying in Colorado for how long, and then what? I am keeping you in my prayers! Love you very much!

  2. I’m sure I would gain weight if someone cooked for me, like David cooks for you.

    1. I’ve never weighedthis much except when I was pregnant for Joshua! But then again, its a common side effect after quitting nicotine. Hopefully, I get stronger and can work out more. 😊

    1. Yes, actually, Dave does most of the cooking. He’s better at it. I clean up!

  4. Common doesn’t make it bearable. I know what it feels like to weigh more than you want, and it is so hard to lose weight.
