SoCS Hive Jive

Your prompt for #JusJoJan the 31st and Stream of Consciousness Saturday is: “scratch an itch.” Use it any way you’d like. Have fun!

SoCS & JusJoJan by Linda G. Hill

I have been itching and scratching the top of my back since last night. I don’t know why because I did buy and wear my new wonderfully warm long johns, but I washed them first. I usually break out in hives when unwashed garments touch my overly sensitive skin. Or, when I’ve washed clothes in anything besides Tide.

Normally, I use some Benadryl spray to easy the itch, but last night I was to sleepy and concerned about the second cold snap. All I wanted was to get warm under the covers and drift off to dreamland, which I did.

It could also be a combo of things like medication and diet. Who knows? I just know I’ll put up with the itch before I shed my new long undies. 😆😂

  1. There’s nothing like a good pair of thermal underwear or Long Johns. I love mine. I truly do! Stay warm and dry! We’re in the middle of another storm here and we’re expected to get a significant amount of snow, “up to a foot” in some areas. It’s coming down pretty hard and it’s so beautiful.

    1. Oh, I’d love to be there with you to watch it come down as long as we didn’t have to get out init, lol! It is gorgeous to watch though.

      1. Haha. My neighbor and I are about to go out so that I can get some good pictures of the accumulation.

  2. I was wearing winter underwear today for temps in the teens and a neighborhood of snow.

    1. Yikes!
You never lost power though, right?
I just heard that lots of Mississippi is still without power!
I would die! Ok, probably not, but I would think I was.

      1. Power was flickering through the night, the neighbors said. I didn’t notice until I woke up. The house seemed quite cool to me.

      2. I’m sorry, it’s hard to deal when you are so cold. I dress in many layers these days and have the space heater going most of the time, lol.

    1. I’m so glad to hear it. Many folks were without power and I can’t even imagine.
