Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “chapter.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I knew from the first chapter that I was reading a book by Stephen King and that it would be good. What book am I talking about? Oh! It’s called “Never Flinch” with a recurring character named Holly Gibney. She was in “Finder’s Keeper” and “Let It Bleed” other crime novels by King.

I like his crime dramas but I prefer horror stories because he’s the master.

Well, the next chapter of our story is starting to take shape. Yesterday we learned we were approved for the duplex, so we went to find some furniture. We don’t have time to go home and get what’s in our storage right now, but even if we did, we didn’t have much because we sold or gave away everything when we went on the road three years ago.

We went to Home Goods or something like that, bought a bedroom set, a dining room set, and two pieces for the living room. I don’t have a clue when, where, or how we will get the rest of the stuff we will need. My thought is we rob the bus of clothes, kitchen needs, and then if he wants to sell it, it will be empty. Maybe one weekend we can go home and raid our storage for some other things.

We move in Wednesday after picking up the keys on Tuesday. The furniture will be delivered on Wednesday. We will have to put the bus in storage of course, and the money being spent is a lot, but he said don’t stress about it. 🤷‍♀️ I can’t help it, I was raised to be thrifty. Buying all new stuff, the money it takes to rent something-rent, security deposit, blah blah blah. In my mind it stacks up -well it’s true, he’s dropped $$$ already.

Today, we went and looked at a few different washer/dryer sets, but didn’t pull the trigger yet. I’m secretly glad, I was hoping maybe we could get a scratch-and-dent special on those. It’s so frustrating to know we have perfectly god front-load machines at home in storage but can’t go get them.
