The Sunday Message

Romans 8:18-30

Afternoon and thanks for joining me for the Sunday Message-my interpretation of today’s sermon.

From Groans to Glory

Paul says in the first verse (18) that no matter what we are currently suffering from won’t be comparable to the glory we will experience.

Creation knows what is coming and it groans in anticipation.

I’d say that is like when Jesus was praying in the Garden before being betrayed, knowing what was coming yet asking if his Father wouldn’t take away the burden. He knew the answer but asked anyway knowing His will would be done.

Creation knows it will be destroyed in the last days only to be remade into something everlasting and glorious. That’s why it groans in anticipation.

When we have “eyes for eternity” we can sit with our suffering, knowing it won’t last forever. Shoot, I pray all the time to be raptured and my suffering may not even compare to yours. It definitely cannot match what Jesus suffered! I try to think about that when I open my mouth to complain.

Now, as for the signs, if we could see all of them, there would be no reason to hope. As it is, God still does miracles but we don’t always see them. We hear about something miraculous every once in a while. That gives us our hope for a world where they won’t be needed anymore! The new world will be perfect. We will be with Jesus in the presence of the Lord.

When we don’t know what to pray we can be confident as believers that the Holy Spirit will intercede for us. God knows our hearts, what we want and what we need.

This next part some people have trouble with.

Paul says that God predestined those who would be saved, therefore, if I’m a believer, God had already predestined that, which means He also called me and justified me. God loves me as an individual. He loves you too!

Nothing can separate us from His love.

I truly hope this brings you a sense of peace. 🙏🤗

I have to admit this last part leaves me with some questions that I will discuss with Pastor Kevin another time.

Does it leave you with questions too? Tell me in the comments and I will try to get the answers for you.
