Pelicans are a gregarious bunch

They fly all together in a hunch

Brown or grey

White or black

Some even have pink

But not usually on their back

Some bills are like rainbows

And others are just plain

They give me such joy

Flying over in a line

They live a long life

Maybe cause they’re social

I’ve even petted one

He was less than vocal

Another I saved

From a fisherman’s line

He was so happy

My thrill was divine!

Now I’m hoping someday

I see one this pretty

Not sure where they live

A zoo possibly?
