

What a nice day its been today! Our Sunday dinner became a double birthday celebration.
We had such lovely weather, there was visiting outside on the patio. My brother-in-law, Robert’s birthday was today so Dave decided to fix fajitas and 🌮 and as I was calling the kids to get a head count, I found out Josh and Shari were not going to make it. I quickly called my friend Julie to see if she and Wes were busy. She said they had reservations at a local restaurant to celebrate her upcoming birthday, but cancelled their plans and came to eat with us! We ran out and got birthday cards, and a gift card for Julie, then back home to finish preparing dinner and cleaning house.

For the foodies, we had fajitas, tacos and chips, then for dessert Julie brought a coffee flavored tres leche cake, which I had never tasted before. Bubba (Robert) and Connie brought a pecan pie and I didn’t eat any. I missed my chance because he took it with him when they went home. I know it was good though because it was from Tippins Pie Pantry (but sold by Albertsons) and I used to work there when the restaurant was here.
Last night, Dave took me to Chef Point, and we shared some Italian nachos, then I had Mahi Mahi with coconut rice. Yum! He had Chicken Parmesan which came out looking like a pie because the whole top is covered and closed in by cheese! He didn’t eat but a fourth of it. He has had a 3-day weekend, so I hope he is rested and ready for work tomorrow. 😉
I don’t know how I’m surviving without having done any workouts for the last three days, plus we have been resting all weekend because Dave was tired and I had somehow injured my knees. I’m thinking I did the wrong kind of exercise when doing the walking workouts. Dave thought i should rest and rehab, but the whole weekend I was upset because we ate rich food and I got little exercise. My knees hurt all the way until today though, so maybe he was right to have me resting. I just hope my gummies did their job!

Glad you had such a great weekend. Sorry about the knees. Yeah, if they are still hurting maybe exercise arms, upper body? Hope they’re back to normal soon.

Are your knees better? Yesterday’s walk found me achy. Before I could walk it out, I went home tired. Today I’ll just do some stretches and nap or go to bed early. I ‘read’ too late last night meaning less than 3 hours. Not much more the night before but Kali did me in with her poor ole lady dog needs. I feel so sorry for her.
