Writing, Writing Prompts

#SoCS 12-31-22

My stream starts with a limerick that I came up with before I ever left the warm bed this morning. Linda G Hill gives us our prompt every Friday for each Saturday’s Stream of Consciousness.

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “new/knew.’” Use one, use both, use them any way you like. Bonus points if you use both. Enjoy!

There once was a man that I knew

Who’s eyes were a cornflower blue

He talked for a while

About his sense of style

Well, at least his clothes were all new!

Something new is on the agenda for the evening, a New Years Dance 💃 which we will attend, but not be dancing. It’s line dancing. I’d rather watch, thank you. One of my fellow gamers said last years dance was a blast. Tickets are $10 each, and it’s byob. I haven’t seen another soul drinking anything with alcohol since we’ve been here, that might be fun in itself! Wait, I take that back…I did see someone drink at the bonfire, that was the last time.

Dave and I have made some plans for after the first of the year. First, we are taking a trip to San Diego for a few days, I think he wants to visit his old stomping ground where he did some time in the service. I also think he is restless and needs to see something new and different.
For that reason, when we come back, we’re packing up the bus, and moving to another resort in Arizona for a month. This one is literally on a golf course. That will give him something to do and maybe he will make some friends to golf with. No one has asked him to go or even mentioned golf since we’ve been here that I know of.

So that’s exciting, some things to look forward to after New Years is over and we have the traditional dinner. What are your plans?

Do you make resolutions?

I gave up on that.

Happy New Year Everyone!!
