Sweat Equity

Boy, I took off running this morning, yet had no idea what all the morning had in store for me!

I reviewed some flat belly exercises yesterday, so that was the first thing I tried right after I got up. I can’t say I did them well, but it’s a start. This girl is woefully out of shape!

Right after that, I walked two and a half laps around the RV park. It was already hot, even at 6:30am, but the breeze helped. We are closer to the marina than the beach, but we still get the ocean breeze.

After coffee and breakfast, I went outside to wash my rocks and restart them for stage two. Check out the amount of shrinkage! This batch started out rough with sharp edges.

The rocks I threw in as filler are just pebbles now!

While I was busy with all that, Dave was working on a way to better anchor our awning so it wouldn’t flop so much in the winds. However, the rope broke and now we have no awning until we go home and he can get it fixed. It’s a manual awning, but we’d sure like the automated kind. Someday maybe.

After a rest from sweating in the heat, Dave asked if I wanted to go for a bike ride. Yes! I did because we haven’t ridden since the weather was cool! We rode about a mile -up to Irie’s Island Cafe for lunch and back home, staying off the busiest roads or on the sidewalk. Lunch was ok, but very noisy and as usual, too expensive. We also had a long wait, but the place was packed. The food was hot when it came and it was just ok. I can see how they are using tourists to help recover from the last hurricane which was Harvey.

I had a little hiccup on a sharp turn, but I handled it and the trip was a success. My watch died, so I don’t have the exact numbers, but I’ve done quite a bit more exercise than usual. The watch has a setting for every type of workout, so I did see that we rode 1.15 miles. I was using the lowest pedal assist, so I should have gotten a little bit of a workout anyway.

I had written a lot more but the editor wouldn’t save and I closed out and lost it all. So sorry for the short post, but memory is also short, lol! Stay healthy everyone!
