Quick Trip!

Just a PSA for all those concerned…

Dave was seen by a dermatologist at the VA and it’s confirmed his cancer is basal cell. He was examined, and told us he’s referring him to a trusted Mohs surgeon. He will probably go to UTSouthwestern in Dallas.

I hope they roll the ball fast and he gets seen again soon. The Dr didn’t even talk about possibly treating with anything else. Straight to surgery, don’t pass go…

Unbelievably lucky we were too, the traffic was light, (unheard of for Dallas) and the trip there and back went flawlessly. I’m so grateful for that and a quick plan! God does answer prayers! Instead of worrying, I stayed positive and encouraged Dave to do so too. And of course I prayed, I’ve been praying since we got the initial diagnosis eight months ago.

Goodbye Dallas!

  1. I’m so glad things were expedited and he was able to have the area of basal cell cancer removed. Prayerfully, everything will be fine from this moment forward!

    1. Oh no, not yet. We just saw the dermatologist at the VA. He will refer him to a surgeon at UTSW. Unfortunately, they are quite backed up, no chance of scheduling for 4 weeks unless we get a break sometime soon.

  4. Glad to hear! Dad has had basal cell cancer before and had it removed from his nose he has a big scar in his nose but the surgery went quick and not much pain. Praying that everything turns out right. I go to UTSW to see my neurologist and it has always been an easy trip. Weird, I know!

    1. Thank you. We heard from the scheduling dept today and they said they are backed up 4 weeks! Ugh! We were hoping to be back on the road, but we aren’t leaving until this surgery gets taken care of. Maybe they will catch up sooner or someone will cancel.
