Feeling Lucky

I’m not lucky when it comes to having a certain kind of fun with my spouse. I almost always end up paying for it somehow.

As per usual, we had some fun the other night, and I ended up with a UTI.

I did the normal things, took AZO for 48 hrs, took my ACV gummies twice a day as normal, and switched from coffee to tea in the mornings with a drop of oregano essential oil since it is said to be “nature’s” antibiotic. Of course, I knew I’d have to involve a doctor at some point, because none of those things totally gets rid of the infection.

(a side note-sitting in the car for several hours during our recent trip to Ohio probably didn’t do me any favors either.)

Where I got lucky, was having a fabulous kidney Dr. who called in orders for me to have my urine tested so he knew what kind of antibiotics to prescribe me, saving me an office visit. When you have no insurance anymore, things like this help with costs. I did said test this morning, and now we wait and see what grows for the next two days before I get any antibiotics. Thank goodness the bad pain is gone, but I’m left with the annoying frequency and urge to urinate.

We are also lucky in the fact that we are saving the cost of a rental car while the Jeep is in the shop fixing a broken fuel line. My brother went and got his Bronco registered and tagged so we can drive it to our necessary appointments and errands. That right there saved us $$$. On a funny note, I will never complain about the Jeep’s noise again after riding around in that rattletrap of a Bronco, but I have no misgivings toward my brother about it. He rarely uses it and never took the time to really work on it, but I’m thankful we have a vehicle to use! It’s over 30 yrs old, after all.

Tomorrow, we go see what the surgeon tells Dave about his upcoming MOHS surgery and how soon it’s going to happen. Keep my hubby in your prayers, I’m praying we get lucky on that subject as well. ☺️

You have a wide range of creative pursuits and always enjoy seeing your projects. Take care and I hope you are feeling more comfortable soon.

    1. Thank you!
I actually started a painting yesterday but it gave me a headache because all the crafts I do I’m sort of bending over. May have to order myself a table easel to work on so I keep it at eye level. I’ve already had neck surgery once and I don’t want to do that again!!

      1. Yes, bending over does aggravate or cause headaches. I have a small wooden easel that sits on a desk that I never use. It’s wooden and quite heavy because it has drawers in the base of it. I wish I could give it to you! I hope you can find a solution that works for you.

      2. I actually ordered one just like that from Amazon and it came today!! Mine isn’t very heavy though, which is good! It came with 2paintbrushes, a set of craft knives, and a set of paints, as well as two different sizes of canvas. It was around $30-so not too bad. ☺️

    1. Thank you, Dan. The good news is surgery will be next Thursday! Should be a relatively quick process with not much after care but we will see. Maybe if he has stitches he can get permission to have someone else take them out and we can get back on the road.

      1. The last time I had stitches, they told me I could go to any urgent care to have them removed. Good luck.
