JusJoJan – SoCS – A Good Day

Again we tackle Linda’s double prompt Saturday as I ask, “Who’s down for corn hole?”

What a glorious morning, sitting in the sunshine, under clouds that cleared to blue sky, watching my friends and others compete in the corn hole tournament.

Standing and watching the action.
Clouds, flags, and teams playing corn hole.

It was supposed to be in the 40’s and going against the predictions, turned out in the upper 60’s, a bit windy, but in a nutshell, just beautiful. My friend Judy talking my left ear off while a new friend David, filled the right ear with emotional stories.

I watched, wishing I could play, but content to be a spectator, as bag after bag got tossed onto boards aiming for the small hole at the top. Eight boards in all, with the teams of four at each, two person teams at each end. Judy and her friend Kathy got a lot of play as they kept winning just enough to keep getting called.

Kathy, getting ready to toss her bag.

They even served lunch and although I didn’t pay or play, they had plenty and encouraged me to eat. I enjoyed a smoked leg-turkey maybe-it was too small to be chicken, dark meat but not as big as most turkey legs. Chips, and fruit accompanied this and dessert was a couple of blonde Oreo cookies.

Folks came by saying hi and showing off their dogs, including my own, as Dave made several trips over to make sure I was ok. He’s such a good egg and I’m continually blessed that I have him and so appreciative of all he does for me.

To top it all off, tonight is hamburger night! In a nutshell, a very good day!!
