I did some research into where Texas was in the process of legalizing marijuana this year.
Hoever, in doing that, I found this quote from 2021 concerning the legalization of delta8, a hemp derivative. Hemp is legal but not more than 0.03%THC is.

As of 2024, Texas is yet to legalize recreational marijuana. However, in 2019, the state Legislature passed HB 1325, which gives Texans the ability to cultivate and possess hemp.

It also explains the difference between delta 8 and delta 9- the latter being legal nationwide. It’s all a bit fuzzy, unless you really study the laws. I have been doing that for several years, waiting on Texas to get on the bandwagon like so many other states.

When I tell you that I occasionally use hemp products like CBD and CBD with 0.03%THC, those products are legal. They are helpful for times when anxiety is a stressor, when sleep is impossible, and when pain makes daily activities difficult.

Have I used actual marijuana? Yes, but I never possessed more than what is deemed legal in Texas. Have I grown it myself? Once upon a time in our old house I did. It was an experiment to see how well I could do it by starting it off in an aerogarden. Once the plants grew from seed to a good size, I’d transport them to a pot. I grew beautiful big plants in my own backyard, with healthy buds that I had no idea of the strain. I did know a sativa plant from an indica plant. To me, that’s all that mattered.

I could probably qualify for medical marijuana if I took the time and spent the money to do so. I have so many health problems that it wouldn’t be hard. Just expensive.

I prefer edible forms of relief and I can get that legally without much expense. Still, I rarely use it, especially during the day. I probably deny myself more than necessary, but I’d rather just get good sleep than walk around foggy during the day. However, I did find a wonderful gummy -deemed a mood gummy -that lives up to its name. I’ve used it in microdoeses and it works great and doesn’t make me feel foggy. The samples were cheap, but full-sized jars are pricey.
