Good afternoon everyone and welcome to the Sunday Message. Today finds me at home, viewing church services back in Bear Creek Bible Church, therefore, back in Proverbs.
Today we are discussing the value of hard work vs the consequences of laziness.
Proverbs 10-15 various verses.
Ex: Proverbs 10: 4-5 says, “Lazy hands make for poverty, yet he who works is a prudent son.”
2 Thessalonians 3
If a man won’t work he won’t eat. The government does not owe us.
Proverbs 12:11 Those who work will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense.
You all know that guy, (or gal) who talks of big plans, grandiose schemes, but then does nothing to get there? All they do is talk, but when it comes time to walk the walk, where are they?
That is what these Proverbs are teaching us. Oh, I have more!
Proverbs 12:27
The lazy do not roast any game, but the diligent feed on the riches of the hunt.
And 14:23
All work brings a profit, but mere talk leads to poverty.
- Productivity Pays Off, Laziness ends in loss.
This is straight forward stuff!
This is why I’m praying so hard for my middle boy right now. He likes to call me and tell me of his huge plans for moving up in the company, but the next time he calls, he’s got three warnings and is in danger of losing his job.
Why has he not realized the truth? Because he does not believe there is a God. He is trying to do everything himself, he is unhappy with his entire situation. He tells me he wants to run away from his problems…again.
I cannot force him to trust in God if he says he believes something else. In what I don’t know. I only know that God is the way, the truth, and the light!
We can do nothing without Him!
We have a little money. We worked hard all of our lives. We tried to keep just what we needed, and we are making plans for the future, when we stop traveling. We are not rich, nor do we flaunt what we have. We got to a point in life where David was ready to retire. Our parents were all gone, our kids where on their own (be that good or bad, it was their decision ) and we wanted to see some things and do new things in different states than our own. So we sold our house and cars, bought a motor home and Jeep for cash, and hit the road.
God will not punish us for this. We earned it through our years of hard work.
That and David’s fine skills in handling money ensure we will not end up in poverty.
Laziness, even now in retirement, is not an option either. Sure, we enjoy our time relaxing, but I have to do something. I can’t be totally idle, so I craft, I go to activities, I blog, etc.

We also try to be generous. We tithe, we tip graciously at restaurants, we give to people in need.
I hope this message has helped you in some way. Have a beautiful Sunday everyone and thank you for being here to hear the Message. Blessings! 🙏💕
