As I was trying to think of something to go with the prompt, the above title came to mind.

What are the 7 deadly sins?

1. Pride
2. Greed
3. Lust
4. Envy
5. Gluttony
6. Wrath
7. Sloth

This is not hat we were taught being raised Catholic, which I have since abandoned for the teachings of our Bible church.

Well, they are still sins in the eyes of God.

The NLV says “Pride goes before destruction, and naughtiness before a fall.”

I’m sure we have all heard the saying in one form or another. Proverbs 16 says, “The LORD detests the proud, they will surely be punished.”

To me this doesn’t mean you can’t take pride in your work, its when you boast about it that gets you in trouble.

Romans 1:29 deals with greed, and honestly, the remainder of the 7 deadly sins all at once…

They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips.

Pretty much describes our world today, if you think about it.

Lord come soon, and deliver us from all these sins, our pain, sadness, and the results of our own making.
