On Getting More Done
Look at me! If it weren’t for pain, I’d not got so much done before 9:30 am!
Not that I enjoy pain but it sure is a motivation to move your body. I was awakened at 4:50 with severe leg cramps. Once I got up to relieve myself, that was better but the back pain wouldn’t let me rest any longer. I tried my morning routine of reading my Bible then my emails and blogs, but I was just a few in and had to get up.
I guess it was around 6:30 by then and I got myself ready and went to get myself and the dogs fed and medicated. Then came the big “pill fiasco” where Whiskey fights me giving her the antibiotics and Benadryl, no matter what I put it in. She’s decided Velveeta sliced cheese is disgusting, won’t eat a banana – what dog doesn’t like banana? I tried stuff it in a treat, pluh…pill on the floor. 😐 Next, I put pnut butter on a Ritz and kinda stuffed it in. She finally swallowed the dang pill.
I wandered around, took them out and finally, knowing I couldn’t sit yet, forced myself to go walk at the park. It was overcast and gloomy but the temp was perfect and the breeze was nice! It looked as if a tornado had been through, limbs and vines downed everywhere. Squirrels weren’t just chattering after me, they were “screaming” and all of them were doing it! I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. 🤣
As I was bringing it on home around 3/4 of a mile, a man walked up and mentioned something about my cane and we had quite the talk. His name was Dennis and he had recently had back surgery for the same reasons my back is giving me. He went to a doc in the same group as mine and said he fixed him up with surgery and now he feels so much better. I told him I’ll pray for him like I pray for my friend Dennis who is in recovery from detox. We had quite the philosophical discussion about drinking, dying, and being dependant on people to take care of you. All that in a quarter of a mile!

Sadly, all the azaleas are gone but hopefully new things will be booming soon. It was too dark to see very far into the woods but I didn’t notice any flowers this time.
I had my MRI yesterday and they even played Christian music for me. ☺️ I’m anxious for the results and the game plan, five more days to wait. Lord help me get there. 🙏
One more note. I’m reading a new Substack called “Epaphrus Prays” by Intercessor Todd and it is so inspirational! I’m going to leave a linkhttps://open.substack.com/pub/epaphrasprays/chat?r=5yyc&utm_medium=ios&utm_source=share, you have the option to read or listen.
