Plus Other News

This morning, before I sat in a warm tub with scented Epsom salts, I prayed with my friend, Robin. She is going through a rough patch with family issues and feels unseen by God. I assured her that isn’t true, He is with you all the time! She is overwhelmed and exhausted, so I prayed for strength and showed her some passages in the Bible to go to for peace and calm as well as strength.

Thanks to my daily exercises, I took an easy mile-long stroll around the park, then drove to Sabine Place to ask if they needed a volunteer for the day but no one would come to answer the bell. It’s a shame that they expect so few people to work in a place like that these days. That’s less care for the patients. I was hoping that maybe someone needed a visit or to be read to. Over the weekend, we played Bingo there with some of the seniors that normally play and it was such fun! I was also going to talk to the activity director and see if that would be a possible monthly activity I (we) could do. Maybe I should call next time and tell them I’m coming.

Our Fall Festival on Sunday was a success! Everyone seemed to be having a good time but when it got dark, people stopped coming. My knee was swelling (probably due to all the bending I was doing to retrieve bean bags) so I left. I don’t know what the count was but I’m hoping to see some of the folks I met in church this Sunday!

After I went by the nursing home, I went and had my nails done because they had grown way out and I had about an inch of nail bed showing! I wish my hair grew as fast as my nails. At least I know the biotin is working on something ☺️
