I would be derelict in my duty if I did not mention that I wrote my first post on the Best Life Collaborative yesterday! I’m so excited, now I feel like since the first one is done, I won’t be so apprehensive about the next one. I just want people to benefit from the things we write, so it would be great if y’all would check it out and provide some feedback. Thank you in advance!
I have been hobbling around on crutches now since Saturday, due to a possibly dislocated knee, the very one that I had my stem cell injection in. Ugh! Anyway, I’m getting pretty good at it, and today I noticed that I can carry something in one hand and get around, albeit carefully and slowly, while only using one crutch. Of course, in between those times, I’m sitting on the couch with my leg propped up on two pillows, icing it to reduce the swelling about every 4-6 hours. I’m also taking Aleive to reduce the inflammation and drinking plenty of fluids. Thursday, I will see what the doctor says about my knee, I’m hoping I don’t have to have the surgery I was trying to avoid in the first place. 😦
All this downtime has been good for my writing and reading, but the TV is distracting and I found myself watching Mary Shelley today which I found enchanting! I adore period pieces because the language is so proper, compared to the vulgar way we all speak today. I love the costumes, the story line, the places they are filmed in, and this story I loved in particular for two reasons. 1) I’ve always been a fan of the story of Frankenstein and 2) It appealed to me because I am a female writer who shares the same sense of frustration at not being published, although her story was a lot deeper than that. I won’t spoil it for those who have not seen it. I was going to watch Pride and Prejudice, but decided to record it and watch it later so I could get this post written.
Anyway, I feel like I’m back on track and making some progress, I have been submitting things all over the place, including my first Drabble (a 100 word story for the audio fiction podcast called Drabblecast….wish me luck! I was recently published in Therapeutic Thymes Magazine and I’m hoping for my second article to come out very soon. Y’all have a fabulous day and may you be successful in all of your writing endeavors!
