One-Liner Wednesday 1-26-22 I Need Caffeine

Current situation: Waiting for this headache to go away!

Ever since I quit caffeine to help my blood pressure go down, I get an afternoon headache most days. I’ve tried CBD, sugar free chocolate, and trying to stay busy, but nothing seems to help. Once in a while, I get lucky and have a day with no headache, but it’s only been a couple of weeks and most days I do.

I check my blood pressure and sometimes it’s high (probably because I’m in pain) but I don’t know if it’s related or not. Today it was 161/80 and my heartbeat was normal at 64. I am working out more too, so I don’t know the answer, but I go back to my kidney doc in a couple of months, so hopefully, he will have one for me.

  1. I wonder if you were to maybe try half and halif or maybe more decaf than caffeinated?

  2. I’m sorry for the headaches, being forced to no caffeine, and yet high BP. Ow!

I had to cut back on caffeine because I was getting migraine precursors. But I seem okay on one cup of coffee then a cup of green tea. Just right. I can have a tea just before 7 pm and it doesn’t cause a problem. But I’ve had to anti-caff before and it nearly killed me. You know in the way suicide might sneak it. JK.

I do hope you find answers. Headaches are horrid!

      1. Ocha (yay, my Japanese Duo) green tea, has some caffeine but it is so healthy. It is without flavor. Unless you get one like Earl Green. Yum!

  3. I am so so sorry. I gave up sodas in my thirties then coffee in my forties (both for brief blocks of time) and the headaches were ferocious. I hope things ease up for you.

  5. I mean I’m trying to do all of those things you mentioned. Daily exercise, avoiding salt, trying to control my blood pressure 🤗

    1. Thank you, Dan! Interestingly enough, I received yet another book on grief in the mail today-unsolicited- from my dad’s church’s priests. I grew up in that church but became a Methodist about 33 years ago.
