Crafts and Stuff

While Dave usually watches golf tournaments Thursday-Sunday, I find other things to do, although I do watch with him quite a bit.

Friday morning, after my morning walk, I worked on preparing my rocks for stage three.

Before being added back into the tumbler for the next stage.

Then I gathered some of the driftwood pieces and my already polished rocks from the first batch to do some craft projects. I used one piece of driftwood to make a surprise for Kevin’s patio wall.

It’s a hanging shelf featuring my bird made from the devils claw, and a shell I plan to add an air plant to.

Then I made another air plant holder using a rock I found around here, and another pendant to add to my collection.

The rock farthest left is actually one that broke in two while tumbling, but I love the way it turned out. It made a nice pendant that maybe one of my boys might like. The driftwood I used as a backdrop is going to be a shelf for Chris and Adams’s new place.

My fingers were sore after all that, so I’ve taken a break on wire wrapping for a bit.

The other thing I do when my man is watching golf is binge on a series. Lately I’m watching Them, a horror series that’s so disturbing it could have been written and directed by Stephen King, but it’s not. I won’t give any spoilers here, but scary isn’t a strong enough word for this series. It’s like The Stepford Wives meets The Shining!

We drive along the beach quite a bit, and here lately, we’ve stopped by the jetty to watch huge ships go by like this one. Dave said it only appears to be pink, but it’s the reflection of the orange paint on the deck.

The jury is still out on that one if you ask me. You may need to enlarge the photo to see it better. I can’t describe how beautiful the water was because I was seeing it through my sunglasses. It didn’t look the same when I took them off, so you can’t see what I saw. It was a beautiful torquoise color. Like Florida’s beach looks.

That’s just one of the local customs around here, but last night we went for margaritas and nachos at a local favorite restaurant; Cancun. They were beyond understaffed, so it was a bit of a wait, but delicious as usual.

I guess that wraps it up for today, except to say stay cool like we are…inside the bus! Time for church and maybe I’ll fit a walk in when the sun goes down! Y’all have a blessed Sunday!

  1. Those crafts are so cool! You are very creative. If it was up to me, I’d find something else to do during the golf stuff, too. LOL

    1. Sunday is the most “exciting “day anyway, why waste four days getting to that point? Just my opinion, but I don’t hate golf. I enjoy rooting for my faves just like other sports we watch.
