Since I’m a complete neophyte at painting I will go ahead and share the latest attempt to paint a sunset closer to what it’s supposed to look like. Remember this one?
I used a fine brush, but the palm trees are totally wrong and I became very frustrated. They just got bushier. My water is wrong but closer to the example I was following.
The stars were supposed to be pinpointed not blurred. The technique was to use the fan brush dipped in white paint, then sort of tap it with another brush stick, but it just went everywhere. I should have done it over the practice paper before doing it to the canvas.
More lessons learned each time, so hopefully with more practice, I’ll go from neophyte to ‘somewhat experienced’. Now I’ll show you the screenshot of the video that I’ve been using to practice.
I don’t know why I get so upset and frustrated because it’s called practice for a reason. 😉
