Well, New Year’s happened even without us celebrating and a new year means a new challenge from Linda G Hill. You can get the rules here if you want to play along. It’s great if your aim is to write more because this is a daily challenge for the whole month of January.
Today our prompt is train. I could use that or not, it’s up to me. I’ll think on it while I tell you about last night.
We had been invited by Barb to go play games at her friend’s house, but midafternoon yesterday, Dave asked if I didn’t mind staying home. He doesn’t like being on the road with drunk drivers, and I can’t fault him for that.
Being in my shape, I wasn’t really in the party mood anyway. We had something going on here at the resort too, but we didn’t see it until we got back from the store and we weren’t about to go empty handed. We could hear the music from our new spot in the park. Now we are right by the pool! They asked us to move to this spot at the end of Dec. because a longer bus or trailer is coming in and they needed our spot to fit.
All night we heard fireworks 💥 all around the outside of the resort. Some sounded so loud, we thought something blew up. I guess because our resort is out in the swampy area away from the city, they can have them out here.
Ok, this has gotten way longer than a jot, lol!
I’m looking forward to tomorrow when I go back to the VA for the consult to get the nerve block injection. Maybe at my next appointment, they will tell me I just need to train with a physical therapist or something and not have to have surgery. We’ll see.
Today, we will eat our New Year food for luck, health, and success. Ham, cabbage, and black-eyed peas 🤮. Dave makes them edible for me.
I hope you all start the year off on the right foot, and don’t twist your ankle in the process! Happy New Year!
