JJJ -An Invigorating Appointment

Linda G Hill gives us today’s prompt.

Today was my appointment with the VA and my pain specialist. It was so cold in there, my teeth were almost chattering. I guess you would call it invigorating had you come in from the heat, but its chilly even here in Florida!

That polar vortex is no joke! Yet I digress. The news wasn’t particularly good, more like, more of the same. Try to manage your pain however you see fit, keep moving but be cognizant of my situation, and lets outline a plan for what comes when we can’t.

Well, since I’m such a hot mess, there are multiple factors at work. The stenosis, the cyst, my Pkd, the arthritis, blah, blah blah. The first idea for relief is multiple blocks-6 in all-and nerve ablasion. They will simply burn the most severe trouble makers-the nerves in the lower pelvic region-and hope that relieves the worst of it. Wean myself off of or change the pain meds to something not so hard to obtain, like Gabapentin instead of Pregabalin, which is a controlled drug.

I also need a nephrologist like yesterday, but will have to wait until we get back to Texas because the process takes too long. Same with the blocks and ablasions, so in the meantime, I manage like I have been by medications and microdosing CBD-D9. My pain doctor said he had no problem with it, he just can’t give me authorization for a medical card for THC.

There are other issues, but I don’t want to bore you with all the details. Suffice it to say, it may be another tough year. But I am strong, and I have faith, therefore, I know I can manage it. 😉

    1. Yes, as long as I have this pain doc, I am. He gets things done and doesn’t deny me the meds I need.
