Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “jam.’” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!
There we were last night, walking the dogs as usual after their dinner, when I struck the edge of a curb, propelling me forward, but thankful I didn’t fall on my face.
Afterward, my legs felt numb, like they might go out from under me, so I sat in a nearby picnic table. After a minute or so, I tested them out and slowly made my way home, one of the dogs still attached to my hand by her leash. A little later, I sneezed and leaked a little, which also scared me under the circumstances, but after a rest, I felt ok.
This morning I was sore, yet pushed myself to act as normally as possible. I went to coffee and donuts and had a cup of coffee. We sat around visiting with friends as usual, then went for a walk around camp. Later, I took another, my right foot going numb like it has been for about a week now.
Later this afternoon, I got in the pool and kicked around on my noodle, like I do most every day, and that really felt good. I had a shower, walked over to Lisa’s because she offered to set my hair for church tomorrow. My back felt fine, however, my calves are a bit sore. Whether from the jolt to my back or the squats I shouldn’t have done yesterday, I’m not sure.
Either way, I was scared to death after said jolt, because one false move like that could actually leave me paralyzed. I was a little miffed at Dave’s apparent lack of concern, but I’m so grateful that I didn’t get myself in bad jam. That not only would have ended this lifestyle, but changed our lives forever.
I’m thinking it might be something I need to report to my care team while we are still in Florida, just in case. The feet going numb, especially during exercise, is kind of concerning. I just want to make sure they don’t think I’m overdoing it. I’ve been back at my daily stretching for at least a week too, which I need to stay consistent with.
That’s it for now! Have a good weekend everyone!
