SoCS- Be My Guest

Your Friday prompt for Stream of Consciousness Saturday is “guest.” Use it any way you’d like. Enjoy!

I’ve been really practicing my basics of Zentangle, not that you can tell by this latest piece. I almost didn’t share it but then I thought any art is better than no art, so if you can draw it better than me, be my guest!

Just kidding, I’m so frustrated with myself. This time I’ll show you the drawing on Pinterest and then my attempt at it.

My attempt

Clearly, I need to slow down and try harder. I started out pretty strong with the head and neck and then it just went downhill from there.

It’s too narrow and squinched down, not uniform shapes.

I think the issue is that I need to keep practicing before I attempt something this big. What are your thoughts?

See how each one of the shapes is not even big enough to do the tangles inside?

My fox wasn’t this bad. I need to stick with things that size for a while until I get the hang of drawing more uniform sized shapes.

  1. I think it’s quite good. There are a lot of details that hang together very well, and a consistency among the shapes.

  6. I actually like your attempt. I can tell where you began to flounder a bit, but you’ve given the image its detail, shapes, and overall striking presence, too. You’re getting better at Zentangles, and it shows!
